Adorned with 5000+ exotic flowers with more than 100 types of roses alone, walking in the flowery heaven at Mughal Garden is no less than walking in paradise itself.  Gather your loved ones and book tickets for Mughal Garden before the blossoming season ends.  Mughal Garden and other gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan are opened for the public from 05 February 2020 and will remain open till 8 March 2020. Here’s everything to know before planning a visit to the most amazing garden in the country.

Varieties of Flowers at Mughal Garden

The Mughal garden is an ecosystem thriving with 10,000 tulip bulbs, 159 varieties of roses named after famous personalities including Mother Teresa, Pranab Mukherjee, John F Kennedy, Jawaharlal Nehru and more, daffodils, hyacinth, bulbous, Asiatic lilies in abundance. However, bulbous flowers are the highlight of 2020. Flowers like “Narcissus”, “Dahlia”, “Sparaxis”, “Ranunculus”, “Hyacinth” and “Asiatic Lily” can be seen in plenty along with other seasonal flowers.

There are 50 different varieties of trees, shrubs and vines, 33 herbs and 300 types of Bonsai plant. With attractions like ‘teacup-shaped tulips’, there shouldn’t be any doubt in your mind why people praise the garden. This year, you can feast your eyes on Grace de Monaco Rose which was planted by Prince Albert-II of Monaco in 2019. You can also spot roses with unusual names like Double Delight, Christian Dior, First Prize and more.

Things to Know Beforehand

  1. Walking through the garden is free of cost i.e. no entry fee is required to visit the Mughal Garden.
  2. It is mandatory to register online a day prior to visiting the garden.
  3. The garden will remain closed on Mondays owing to maintenance.
  4. The garden can be visited between 10 AM and 4 PM. No further entries will be allowed after 4 PM.
  5. Entry to the Garden will be through Gate no. 35 of Rashtrapati Bhavan on North Avenue Road and it is essential to produce a valid Mughal Garden ticket and ID card to gain entry to this flowery wonderland.
  6. A separate entry/queue will be given at the gate no. 35 to the visitors who have booked tickets online.
  7. Apart from the spiritual garden, herbal garden and bonsai garden, this time visitors will be able to access all three parts of the garden- rectangular, long and circular.
